How I Met Your Mother slash self waiting game over

wpid-how-i-met-your-mother-cast.gif.gif

image

Kids, remember almost a decade ago and we started to watch how i met your mother. I was 20 then. Young and romantic. Somehow the elusive feeling of love overtakes me and started loving the show up until the finale.

image

You would hear spoilers
everywhere of what should have happened or not. Yet by the end of this great era for television. I could say himym touch my heart to the fullest.

We all know that the title himym is not approriate. Like the old good ones, friends, beverlyhills 90210 or even melrose place  and sex and the city. It was a story of frienship, love, trust, lust and faith. All begets and hurts us since we can relate and compare notes to whats going on to our daily lives.

LEGEN…. wait for it… DARY

As barney always say.. “legen… wait for it…. dary”, the show captivates us by waiting. Waiting for the perfect timing. We can actually have everything that we wish for but we have to wait for it. For us to value what we have we have to earn it. Despite  the focus of the show which is ted. We fell inlove with the rest of the gang. I commend the writers for being able tp create twist and turns to every characters and build them up to an amazing friend.

Comparing my own frienship to Teds

My friends and i have been hanging out for more than 15 years and counting. We usually find our own Mclarens, our fave drink which is jack or even have more time spending with each other than with our partners or family. To us, himym voices out our individuality somehow somewhere. To my friends, thank you. We may find the realm of life in the next few years but i am happy and honored that true friendship can also be found in real life not only in a tube.

The Robin in me

What attracts me most is the characters evolving himym. I always take those quizzes that ranks your personality to which HIMYM character are you. I have always feel i am robin. Smart, sexy and hungry for adventure. I have related a lot to her in my entire. If you are still reading my blog. Then i have a secret to tell. Me and robin shares one thing. We are both scared and dont want to have kids. This is why i was crying out loud when the show ended. I have love robin the most since i can relate. How it is cruel to live in a mans world. She deserves the career that she gets but why was she deluded with false love. I know barney loves her greatly but it seems like a love you bestow on great friends. You protect them and care for them but its just not right to think it is love. A player is always a player. How can she be blinded with barney when she knows for a fact she is inlove with ted all along. Yet i appreciate barney for loving robin. For him trying to change to a mature man. From a psycho womanizer to a loving jealous husband back to womanizing. Then boom. He found the love. He was not wanting love romantically. He found love from his daughter. Love is really twisted. Our definition of love is somehow different to other love. The main reason why i cant hate barney. Bec he tried to love, he might be scared of it but he tried, he took chances.

It saddens me. It gives me a pain. It is heartbreaking. You followed the show for almost 10 years and then you see your self in her shoes. One thing i have learned. Its still a man’s world out there. Regardless how strong and feminist that we are. Men still has the last say whether they will be committed to you or not. And they also decide when they will love you back.

The perfect woman

Robin is not selfish. For the haters please move on. I see Robin in a modern kind of light. Tracy is sweet and perfect, the kind of woman you would want to marry, which Ted did. However in reality, women nowadays are empowered. They know what they want. They can have their orgasm if they want to. Women are bitchy nowadays. Seriously. If theres a perfect woman like Tracy everywhere then Ted would not have a hard time waiting for 9 years or more. Since he patiently waited, please give the guy a credit. Tracy is his love although she died, they still manage to become a family for 14 years right? He even waited for 6 years before he had the talk with his children about Robin. Commending Ted with such pride because unlike any other man he was man enough to be responsible and wait for the right timing. And yeah. Ted is a fictional character. Darnit!

HIMYM finale

I know i sound like a puppy. But i love himym. I wanna thank the writers, researchers and everyone from their cast and crew. I do not hate you for the ending i actually appreciate how true it was. Life is unfair. Life is real. The finale gives me a feeling that life is great we should move on and head to a great future.

Platonic Love

When you get hurt you dont play someone else heart and screw everything just bec you were hurt. You find ur peace and reconcile yourself.

Why do we relate like the character?

Ted mosby

image

You believe in true love. You are too romantic you are willing to let go. Let go of the love you earned and wanted.

Robin

image

You act like a guy. You think like a guy. You dont like kids but you love to have someone to love you.

Barney

image

You enjoy sex. You love the attention. Your friends are more important than your girls. You aim to become the best version of yourself regardless if its legal or not. Yet you are man enough to fall inlove and become a person you wouldnt think of.

Lily

image

You are crazy. You cant keep secrets. But ur heart is genuine. You love your friends. You are everybodys bestfriend. They love you like crazy. They depend on you for matters that are impossible because you are a great friend.

Marshall

image

You are one of a million. You focus on what is right. You are the reason why women fantasizes about romance. You are not perfect but you try to please and respect your woman even if shes a bitch and moody.

Himym. Thank you. Whatever character you choose it was all worth it.

The Truth About Xdeals

the truth

The Truth About Xdeals – Filipina Wanderer. In this industry of fashion where photographers, makeup artists, stylists, and models collaborate, there is a known issue about X deal, Is it a good thing or a bad thing??

What is an X Deal?

An X Deal is an agreement  between two parties, who would want to collaborate in exchange of company’s goods or services. There is no monetary involvement with this deal. So if one party gets some moolah out of this transaction it means someone is scamming the other or vice versa. Although if the other party is aware, then probably you may call it as friendship.

Why X the Deal?

For a newbie in the business, it is best to work with fellow artists who are very passionate about the craft. You will be able to get free pointers/ lessons depending on how open minded you are with the project.

Who can participate in an X deal?

In the Fashion Trade, either a Photographer, Makeup Artist, Stylist, or Model can find her team who are willing to work together for free. Most of the time, photographers are the ones who create the opportunity for makeup artists and models.

In the Business world, most sponsorship today are done through this. A company sponsoring an event would just be giving X amount of goodies. It is actually hard to find a company who can provide monetary sponsorship, unless the company is working directly to the particular event.

In the Music World, this can be the composer, the lyricist, the single and the brand. Either of which they can all collaborate in creating a music for a cause. Most often this is done in amateur level.

The Professional and the Amateur

The Professional will never get into Xdeal unless he or she was invited by a friend or a colleague for a greater cause. Doing charity work can cause a lot of trouble for a professional however it also uplifts his moral senses if he or she participates in this cause.

The Amateur will be more willing to attend Xdeal events. This is the best way to be heard. Collaborations can help an amateur add his or her portfolio materials. This is also a cheap way to start. Normally you need a team to move on to your ladder but by joining Xdeals you get a good edge especially if you will be working with the professionals.

Our Investment

For Photographers, you need your camera, which they do update every now and then. They need a laptop. They need different lenses. They need different strobes and lights.

For Makeup Artist, they would need their entire makeup basics times 3. They need at least 3 hues of foundations, concealer, powder, bronzer, eye shadows, eye pencils and lipsticks. They also need different brushes, sponges, traincases and a lot more.

For Models, they need to maintain their physique. This includes their monthly gym membership, facial treatments, spa services, supplementary diets and a gazillion wardrobe and shoes.

But we must know. Despite being new in the business or the lack of portfolio thereof we all know it is quite pricey to become a fashion merchant. And to top of this investments, this people need to pay for their rent, phone bills, internet, gas money, food and drinks.

The Good Thing behind.

It builds the portfolio. It builds the network. It builds your craft to get better. For starters, it is always best if you start contacting your friends who are beneficial to your craft, then set a project where everybody wins. If you are good in your creativity, people will know. And eventually you will start to receive calls and client gigs. Invest in your talent, nurture it deep. Read more, practice more and own it.

Why does it hurts?

People just build their contacts. Or one part of the deal scams the other. The worst will be lack of natural talent. Honestly this is the real hindrance why there are scammers. Scammers do nasty things because they are only good in marketing it but cannot deliver the goods. And you may feel sabotage after the deal. It is best to research the people you are working with. Google, Facebook, Twitter, the list of social media goes on. People in this artistry are always in the loop of the world wide web, always remember that. If the person you are dealing with is being discreet with his/her company/ business/ portfolio/ talent you have to be careful.

Remember, you got all the info that you need. It is all up to you how you use and abuse it. Enjoy my friend.

Tell us your horror and winning experiences about Xdeals. We would like to hear from you.

Nina Garcia FW Ultimate Fashion Icon in Manila

Nina Garcia 1

Who is Nina Garcia?

Filipina Wanderer have been screaming in excitement since the EDSA billboard announcement that Nina Garcia is coming to Manila.  After many post in facebook and twitter, my close friends are all asking, who is Nina Garcia. In my dismay of horror, I am shocked that only few people knows her. Nina Garcia is Filipina Wanderer’s Ultimate Fashion Icon.

Nina Garcia 1

Nina Garcia is the well known judge in Project Runway. She was the Fashion Director for Elle and now for Marie Claire.  (The Fashion Director position is the most eyed job I can ever think of.) In the world of social media, Ms. Nina Garcia is the best person to follow if you would want to be updated in the fashion scene. I began falling in love with her as I began subscribing to her platforms and envisioning her vision as a good source of inspiration. I follow her : Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest,  Spotify, Foursquare, Instagram, yes, she is everywhere.

Boy Abunda Nina Garcia

The resemblance of Columbia and Manila according to Ms Nina Garcia is the faith in the Catholic Church and the weather. Interviewed by Mr. Boy Abunda during the Jag show he asked if she does pray.  She answered witfully, that we should communicate with the right words. I summarized the conversation here are some points.

Her tips/ advise to the Filipino enthusiast, elaborated in a Pinay way.

1. Go to school for technicality.
There are different school for the arts and Fashion Design. Here in the Philippines, we actually need a certification or diploma to make a correct path. Unless, you are prepared to be humiliated repeatedly just because you dont have the right papers. Do not get me wrong unless you use your parents, relatives or friends resume for backup then you dont need this advise. Manila is tougher, but the global arena is even harder.

2. Have a background in design and the arts. Fashion starts in understanding the basic concepts and ideals. Learning the Greek, Roman, Christian, Byzantine art helps. Basic knowledge of the fundamentals in art is the best way to start fashion. Learn to know about the coherence in style, measure and harmony. It is exciting to see a designer delivering his inspirations just like the new trend now, the use of Aztec and ethnic patterns.

3. Do internships. Do correct networking.                                                                                                                                                 Tell me who your friends are and I tell you who you are. If you are able to build the right connections to the fashion industry then you are at the right path.  Create your look book  make a dazzling business card and present it with a great big smile. A warm fun person always wins the game. Ms. Garcia mentioned you may need a great business partner. Invest in creating contacts. Having the right person with the same vision and ideals to fashion is a great way to deliver great style.

4. Find your field.
You may be fashion designer, a seamstress, a makeup artist, a photographer or a stylist. There are many branches of fashion. Know where your strength is. Cultivate it. Practice it everyday. The 10 years of practice theory and experience is always the best way to become great. Regardless if your talent is innate or cultivated, practice, practice.

5. Breathe the air of fashion.
Wear it. create it. Walk it. Never underestimate an ordinary day. You should exude your style in everything you do. If you can afford couture then go for it. But I always say, fashion is not about the price but how you deliver it.

6. Know your view. Know your own point of view. Know your woman.
You may be wanting to dress the stylish kolehiyala or the luxurious office chick. You have to be aware of “who” is your woman.  Who do you want to dress up, is it the fun barbie or the plain Jane. Once you build up your foundation, the elements of style comes after.

7. Be unique and authentic.
It is always great to know the trends in every fashion sense. Get the inspiration, be informed and be inspired. However copying the exact style or reinventing someones creation is a NO-NO. We should not be copycats. There had been number of designers who are copying. We should not follow that track. Try to check the Fashion Law you will be surprise. If you are the next big thing people will be inspired on your works. It will hurt you when you see your imaginative style is being copied.

Be prepared for the annual Jag Fashion Week Competition. Here is some perspective from our country’s designers exclusive for Jag Philippines from Jeffrey Rogador, Norman Noriega and Jerome Salaya Ang.

Jag Jeffrey Rogador

Jag Norman Noriega

jag jerome salaya ang

The energy is sexy in New York. We may want to buy the ticket to come there and start our name but we were warned that we need to take the path slow. Progress little by little. It takes time to be really succesful. When we head to the top so fast we might fall too fast too. Manila may be far from New York but we can start here by helping one another.

Jag Philippines 3

“Beauty is overrated”, as Ms Garcia mentioned. To become fashionable you have to know your style and execute it with confidence. Every Filipina at heart can be successful as Ms Nina Garcia. I have learned a lot. I am craving to learn more. To meet new people who can touch my life to a great progression of fashion and passion.

Jag Philippines 2

Special Thanks to Ms. Mae Ilagan of When In Manila for making it possible. To Fuentes Manila, for letting my dreams to come true. To Jag Philippines for being awesome. Thank you guys.

Pope Resigns: Five Strange Facts

Franco Origlia/Getty Images

Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger decided to resign as the Sovereign of the Vatican City State and leader of the Catholic Church. Pontiff says he lacks the strength to do his job. Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said the resignation was not due to any specific illness. The pope may have wanted to resign now to avoid the exhausting rush of Easter engagements,

Franco Origlia/Getty Images

Franco Origlia/Getty Images

Benedict XVI is the 265th Pope, a position in which he serves dual roles as Sovereign of the Vatican City State and leader of the Catholic Church. As Pope, he is regarded as the successor of Saint Peter the Apostle.

There are Five Strange Facts about the Papal Resignation (Facts I have gathered through Social Media, thank you friends)

1. His Chosen Date: February 28

Feb 28 is a Vatican holiday to announce his resignation. It celebrates the 1929 treaty establishing Vatican City as a separate state.

2. Peter the Roman (the prophecy of Popes)

The prophecy was first published in 1595 by Arnold de Wyon. It is the prophecy of the last pope, Peter the Roman.

“In the extreme persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit [i.e., as bishop].
Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations:
and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed,
and the terrible judge will judge his people.
The End.”

3. 598 years after

In 1415, Pope  Gregory XII  resigned the papacy. He ended the era of the Great Schism.

Pope Celestine V is  notable for abdicating papacy.

4. Papal Controversies

John Hooper in Rome analyses Benedict’s seven-year papacy, which he calls “sad and storm-tossed”.

The former Joseph Ratzinger came to the highest office in the Roman Catholic church with a reputation as a challenging, conservative intellectual. But the messages that he sought to convey were all but drowned out, first by a string of controversies that were largely of his own making, and subsequently by the outcry – particularly in Europe – over sexual abuse of young people by Catholic clerics …

The pope was himself affected by one of these scandals. It emerged that, while he was archbishop of Munich, a known molester was quietly re-assigned to duties that, in time, allowed him to return to pastoral duties and make contact with young people …

In 2006, he outraged Muslims when, in a scholarly lecture at his old university in Regensburg, he used a quotation to the effect that the contributions made by Muhammad were “only evil and inhuman”. That, at least, had the effect of stimulating an exchange with a group of Muslim scholars. But little that was positive emerged from other controversies.

Benedict offended indigenous Latin Americans by claiming that the colonisation of their continent had not involved “the imposition of a foreign culture”. And he angered Jews by allowing wider use of the old, Tridentine liturgy, which includes a Good Friday plea that they be “delivered from their darkness”.

5. Papacy is not a job

The black smoke was produced twice in 2005, even if the bells did not rang, when the white smoke was seen we are aware we have a new pope. We will see another papal concave by March 2013. After 8 years in position, can he really resign?

Papacy is not a job. The papal job description is to feed the sheep. Servus servorum Dei, literally means Servant of Servants of God.

John 21:15-17
When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.”

A second time he said to him, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.”

He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” And he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.”

Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.

Below is the full text of Benedict XVI’s resignation letter:

Dear Brothers,

I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church. After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry. I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering. However, in today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the bark of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me. For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is.

Dear Brothers, I thank you most sincerely for all the love and work with which you have supported me in my ministry and I ask pardon for all my defects. And now, let us entrust the Holy Church to the care of Our Supreme Pastor, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and implore his holy Mother Mary, so that she may assist the Cardinal Fathers with her maternal solicitude, in electing a new Supreme Pontiff. With regard to myself, I wish to also devotedly serve the Holy Church of God in the future through a life dedicated to prayer.
From the Vatican, 10 February 2013

Filipino Stereotypes

Filipino Stereotype

Filipino Stereotype

Filipina Wanderer. Ever wonder what other cultures say to us Filipinos? Recently, I have been interacting with foreigners. I was amazed and sometimes appalled with how they think Filipinos are.

stereotype is a thought that may be adopted about specific types of individuals or certain ways of doing things, but that belief may or may not accurately reflect reality.

The Ideal Pinay.

She is exotic, petite and submissive.  Half of this is true.  Filipinos is mixed. We are either from a Chinese, Japanese, Spanish or European decent. In general her looks will be like this: her height is 5’2, she is petite with long black hair, her skin is olive, she is a college graduate, she blushes a lot, you may find her in the malls while wearing short shorts, flipflops and a tee shirt.

The main reason for me writing this post is because I was hurt. I was hurt when someone told me that Filipinas are whores. I am hurt as a Filipina. I am hurt because I am a woman, a feminist that is. However, I opened my mind and put my self in his shoes. The Philippines have been a tourist spot for prostitution, it is sad but it is true. Poverty is a sick issue and sometimes a starving kid can make you do crazy things. In this society where college education is a must, it will be hard for a regular Filipina to find a good job. But at the end of the day, any men would fall for Filipinas, because we are faithful and loyal at the same time. We are empowered yet we put our families first. We make loving to the sweetest. For this reasons I am not in shock why men (from all over the world) prefers Filipinas after all.

Filipino time.

Yes, Filipinos are always late. I myself can attest to that. When you say 7pm, expect your guest to arrive at 9 or 10pm. However we may have problems with being punctual. You can expect us to be at your event until egress. We may offer help if needed. We extend our time to listen and help even out of our reach.

Filipino Cuisine

We dont really eat dogs, but we eat goats and some creatures. :)  Some cultures eat goats like a staple food. Yes, some Pinoys eat goats but not as often as they eat pork or beef. I haven’t tried eating any dog or any frog or alligator, yet there are some provinces who really does. No offense but I think its just a preference.

We eat food with our hands but usually we use fork and spoon. We are knowledgeable to use chopsticks too.

Our official “national” ulam (viand) is Sinigang and Adobo. We eat either of the two viands every week. It use to be galunggong as our official ulam, however with the rise in price of the fishes, we rather eat adobo.

Sinigang is a Filipino soup or stew characterized by its sour and savory flavor most often associated with tamarind (sampalok). It is one of the popular viands in Philippine cuisine.

Adobo (Spanish: marinade, sauce, or seasoning) is the immersion of raw food in a stock (or sauce) composed variously of paprika, oregano, salt, garlic, and vinegar to preserve and enhance its flavor.

I found a 100 list about Filipinos at Yahoo Answers which was originally posted by Alistair in MySpace.  Read on.

Filipino Stereotypes may be fun and offensive at the same. Are you a Filipino? Can you relate??

loving the vibe

Filipina Wanderer and beats. Recently, I have been flooding your pages with some eargasmic pleasures. I always believe that to empower the world today you should have a great content. And by great content, it should always be creative, fresh and 100% yours.

The wonder of beats. I have met new people from this new circle, from producers, djs, and productions. They are all nice and sweet. Giving me great feedbacks for every new compositions. They would instruct me to watch youtube videos so I can learn the basics, they added me on their groups which is so awesome since its very exclusive and I feel I do belong, and the greatest is, I feel like a princess since there are only few female sound producers.

Ilocos and Beyond

ilocos 012

Filipina Wanderer travelled Ilocos and beyond. Most of my shots are my stock photos from a previous travel in Ilocos Norte particularly in Pagudpud and Laoag.

Hello there! Welcome to Pagudpud.

Pagudpud is in the tip of Luzon. This is actually the gateway of Ilocos Norte (where my father’s clan is) and Cagayan Valley (my mother’s hometown). As a kid we usually pass by this route, I was able to ravel the changes thru the years. Its a 4 hour drive from Laoag to my Mom’s, which oftentimes I am sleeping from the entire trip. :)  There are actually great places if you go beyond Pagudpud. Just like in Santa Praxedes, Claveria or far up Santa Ana. If you are looking for a different getaway, with a different beach, where the mountains, lands and beach meet, this is the perfect adventure.

Pinoy Halloween 2012

pinoy halloween

Halloween Celebrations in the Philippines is not really a known trend, however since we adapt so much with the changes in the western world, we are now celebrating it in style.  I discovered some few activities which you guys can relate with. From going conservative to being all the way Halloween. Amidst the trend I am happy that people are celebrating in Pinoy Style.

CEMETERY ACTION

When I was a kid, we usually spend the halloween night, (Oct 31) at the Cemetery. My lola died on the year I was born. It has always been our trend to visit my lola. We normally spend the night, bring some food and feast with the souls. The entire place is wonderful. Every year I look forward to spending halloween with my lola and her neighbors. The cemetery might be crowded, with all of the cars, teenagers dating all over the place, families too busy with their food containers, people singing out loud with their karaoke or people who are actually praying for their dead love ones. No matter how they spend it in the cemetery it is always an interesting view.

Nowadays, there are tons of fast food carts inside the area. From burgers, sandwiches, ice creams  tacos, sushi, pizzas; name any food, you can find it here. But if you are doing this kind of adventure this year, please be reminded of our trash. The only sad part, people are literally throwing everywhere. I know its not too much to ask :)

PARTY HALLOWEEN

For the party goers here are the list of where you can go zombie or catwoman. I heard cosplay and superhero themes are intrend. You can create and but your costumes. No matter who you are. Unleash your inhibitions! Go wild! I have watched a tv segment that whenever the guest was wearing this costumes, she always feel the character and become the person. Forgetting your real life and enjoy the night. It might be fun, but I gotta say be careful still because at the end of the night, you will go back to your real space, to your real life. Have fun but be careful.

My friend bought this catwoman costume in Makati. Its called Skitzo. I really love the costume, it suits her perfectly.  There might be other costume place where you can buy and all. I will updated this article for that.

You may want to check Skitzo on Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/skitzomanila

I gathered some Halloween events for this year. Feel free to visit their event page. For additional events please feel free to message me.

EXCLUSIVE HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT

Most exclusive subdivisions offer their community a fun filled Halloween trick or treat for the kids. If you drive around, you will see the houses decorated in scary or funny halloween ornaments. The best thing for any kids are the tons of candies that our homeowners are giving to the kids who are participating. Young or old, you will see your neighbors in Superman or Edward get up. I myself enjoys this every year.

But be AWARE. This activities are limited for the homeowners only. There is a silent halloween rule, “If you dont live in the block, then don’t ask for candies”. The goodies are for kids. If you have friends from the village, then you are lucky to be invited but seriously, respect bro! :)  Since this is becoming a trend, your village might have their own trick and treat. It feels the best when you feel belong, with the witches and vampires that is.

SOCIAL MEDIA HALLOWEEN

If you will be stuck at your home this halloween, don’t fret. The internet has more fun stuff. With the uprising of the digital age, you can feel the halloween all over the world. You can check google or facebook for any fun craziness people are doing this holiday.

I found some yucky and funny memes and costumes that were posted all over the web. This are my faves.

Suppenfuß – I googled this, this is Glutten Soup available in Germany :)

50 Shades Contract Review

christian Grey

The world went crazy when the E L James published the book. So what is this fad about? You would see the ladies going vocal about their love for Grey. It was originally a fan book based on the characters in Twilight and the authors unique question on what would it like to be if you are engaged in a Dominant-kinky-kind-of-relationship. I love the author. I followed her on twitter before I even read anything, and she followed back. (Sweet)

And I am now taking my own big and small insights of the chapters, the books and the entire trilogy. I never wanted to create this kind of post but while I was reading it, I realized, I was also in a Grey-er pasture  I can relate. I was trying to defend my theory about “Love is a decision” and as I read chapter by chapter, it helped me realize that I am really now a mature woman. My thoughts about Grey and relationships are now deep and realistic. If I read this five years ago, I am sure I will have a different perspective. Thank you author. You made me realize that I found my strength. Maturity.

Being a known fast reader. It took me sometime to read the book. Some factors like real lack of time, appalled that this book is really erotic, it concerned me that some readers can read the trilogy without being affected, and this is the first time I read a book via a PDF  I am a computer addict I can stay in front of my laptop for hours but reading a novel is different. I will still love and go back to old school reading, paperbacks and hardbound.

I heard and read. Some readers are either proud or ashamed of reading the book in public. (Of course in paperback) Proud, because it’s the fad thing. They would reading this book at a coffee shop and people would have a second look. I would give a second look. Ashamed  just like me I would be humiliated showing it to the world while reading it. Not because I am not proud of reading it in public but I find the idea weird. It’s an erotic book with the rate of the innuendos in every chapter it would be hard not to feel anything :) Some readers covered the front cover with something else, and even one reader took the cover off. Genius.

If Anastacia Steele have some pointers on the contract. I do have too. It is actually wonderful that they have a discussion about this. A contract is a binding between two individuals. It should be agreed upon in both ways.

CHAPTER 11
the contract

I completely agree with Grey. There should be a contract to two individuals before they engage to business or sexual pursuits. It saves you the burden of a heartache. It guarantees you trust and faithfulness. Just like the law, you will avoid the things that will wreck you. It protects you from harm.

Clause 4: this should be mandatory. Blood test and physical exam should be done before any engagement. You don’t want to get in contact with this scary diseases. It also opens up if the partner is fertile and healthy to bear children. You would also be aware if the existing condition are bearable or can be pass down to your children. I mean if you cannot imagine your children having the same qualities your husband has, what is the point on going forward, right?

Clause 7 onwards: This is completely fiction. No man can guarantee your safety. If so, he really love you dearly. Taking full responsibility about your partner is the best love. A partner should be able to provide assurance and contentment. I then again agree with making contracts in a relationship.

It then boils down if the submissive will be willing to undertake the contract. I think any woman would agree on this. I have always been a feminist and I don’t feel offended with the terms. A person who decided to fall in love and be in a relationship should always be faithful and loyal. If you feel the temptation striking hard. It only means one thing, you should need to check your heart and know if you really love him. Again I say, Love is a decision.

Expiration. Love does not have an expiration. It only ends when two individuals doesn’t fit in a relationship anymore. There is no room for three. It can be another individual, a job or career or the responsibility left for your immediate family.

To have a definite expiration is good. Just like a dying person. You take each day as your last. Being comfortable to your partner is hazardous. Trust me, it is. If the day of expiration comes, it is your decision to continue for another term or end the contract and wait for the right person.

Availability. Giving a definite time for your partner is a must. Space is good. It enables you to breathe. It enables you to become the person before you met.It gives a sense of satisfaction. It helps you to become excited to see your partner. A specific time that other people should respect. Of course, your hands may be full on weekends too but hey! Set your priorities woman!

BDSM. Bondage and Discipline. Dominance and Submission. It may sound dirty or adult topic. But in relationships we are in a dominant and submissive situations too. It can interchange or can be done dominantly. I take this issue in a non sexual way. I see it as a whole. People should start asking how their relationships are going.

Virgins. Do not expect too much. Sex is not really great the first time. Do not trust Anastacia, she is fiction. You will not have the greatest orgasm if you cannot compare it to anything. Sex is always the greatest if you do it with the person you love. The character is not yet in love during their first time. She was curious and excited, of course it will be a mind bubbling experience. You will have great experiences. And it will start if you don’t expect at all. Expectations can kill, in every aspect of life. So, if you are already prepared to pop your cherry. Forget of what had happened in this trilogy. Enjoy your moment. Do not expect that your partner will go Grey on you. If he did, did you really enjoy it since you are comparing it to Ms Steele? Or if you did lucky you!

Silence in bed. It think its kinky.

Safewords. Yellow and Red. It would really be great if you know your own limitations, and when your dominant is willing to cease immediately. There are men who just continue to hurt women whether we like it or not, even when we say no, they still continue to becoming assholes. Then come the martyrs. I use to think when you know its beyond your limit and your partner is still continuing his pursuits, it will be best to stop the relationship. I would say, just leave him, you may find someone else better. However, when you get into a relationship and you decided you will love this person indefinitely. Sometimes, when you say no, and you really mean it, he would still do it because he knows you love him too much just to let go. In a fictional world, if you say no, your partner will completely stop whatever you hate him doing. In reality, it is just your decision if you will allow your self to become a martyr and bear his craziness of not obeying to your needs. If a person cannot respect you as a person, it is up to you whether you respect yourself or not.

Marriage contract. I think. When you decide to marry, you should see Grey’s contract in a non sexual way. I do not have a direct experience since I am still single but I think it would be awesome to consider like the points I have mention above. Recently, I have watched the new episode of How I Met your Mother. Barney made a list for his pre-nup. It was hilarious and made me think again. Pre-nups should be done not just because of money involvement but we need to regard about our emotions too. We marry someone because we love him/her. We do not marry a person just because he can provide us a better lifestyle. If you marry just because of money, you are more susceptible into falling inlove with a poor man. The main reason why some women satisfy themselves with a younger man who can. Also, why men would pay a cheap whore just because their wives cannot meet the needs.

The ideal boyfriend. Someone you bring home. Watch dvd together. Eat dinner, watch a movie. Hold hands while in the mall. Listen to your rants while you listen to his political views. Exchange text messages, emails and lovey dovey Facebook status. Bring to your family lunch get together.

Love is a decision. My friend told me, it’s a feeling. Of course love is a feeling. It is a state of mind. When you see a pretty lady that is attraction. When you start to have a conversation, and you feel that this girl is smart and sexy it will intrigue you more. The reason why they would ask for our number or ask us for a date, but beware, men already know the first time they see you if you are a potential partner or just mate for a night. They might prolong the moment into weeks or even years. We have to be careful. Men can act the exact same way to a person they would want to marry or someone they want to bang. So how would you know if he is real or not. Let us start from ending our imagination to finding Mr.Right. He doesn’t exist, or if he does, he is already married or gay. The next step would be us making our selves the right person. Start loving your self. This is applicable for both sexes. You have heard this a million times but let me repeat it for you. You gotta start loving yourself. Be happy, be open-minded, be positive. When you start embracing yourself. You will be surprise with the reaction of your hormones to the other gender or fellow. People will start seeing you in a different light. You will smile more. There are different certainties in life that we cannot control like accidents, sickness, tragedy or a bad choice of career but if you see the world in a lighter and happier note, everything falls down correctly. When you met the person whom you decided you will love for the rest of your life, you would then agree with me that love is indeed a decision.

Chairs are like Facebook

Chairs are like Facebook

I was reading my feed and came across Mashable‘s article. Facebook Is Like Bananas and Boxes, Says the Internet by Stephanie Haberman.  At first I thought this was just a parody or a mockery but no its official. I am embedding the videos which have been distributed publicly. No infringement necessary. You may view the original link too.

Chairs are like FacebookOriginally I wanted to copy a picture and use it as my cover. But hey, my name is Cher. I can be facebook too? right?

If this will turn out as a fad thing. This ad will be the same as “Its Not Fun In The Philippines Anymore”, I mean the original “Its More Fun In The Philippines” tourism ad campaign. People can think of any noun, chairs, airplanes, scissors, spoon, towel, wood, water, condom, hairspray and yes zombies too.

There is a tumblr blog, Are like Facebook, wherein you can submit your photos, with a tagline, because the universe is vast and dark. There are a number in the archive list. Hence, creating my own. :P (Bazinga!) You can submit your photos too.

The website, Are like Facebook, gives us a big NO, then probably it answers its own question. (Hey is this a trick question!?!)

There are also videos for this matter. First the Twitter Parody of Obama and Mashable’s parody of the ad.

All I can say now. Enjoy. Everyone like Facebook anyways.

Pinterest 101

pinterest 101

Filipina Wanderer have been addicted to the this new crazed called Pinterest. Since I have started, I was amaze how fast people like and repin. I have various boards which are really interesting. I started repining my old stock files from my tumblr account. In day 1 I got 50 followers. So I made this list for people who wants to use Pinterest as their new social media platform.

pinterest 101

10 things to know in Pinterest.

1. Create interesting boards

This should be boards with one niche. For example weddings, fashion or photography. Make sure you will be able to keep this updated.

***My best pinned board is my MUA Ideas and Fashyon. (I have great followers from well known Makeup Artists, Photographers, International Magazines, and Brand PR’s)

Pinterest Fashyon

Pinterest MUA Ideas

2. Add a Pin

There are different ways in adding your pins.

Adding a Pin via a URL > Click Add a Pin > Choose the Url of your choice>  Paste the link> Click on find images > Pin it.

Pinterest Add

PInterest add a pin

3. Install the Pin It Button

I really love this Pin It Button because you can pin anything you are interested in while you are browsing the net.

About > Pin It Button> Click and Drag the Pin to your Bookmarks Bar.

4. Upload your own Pin

You may also upload your own pin. Remember you must have the authorization to upload the photo.

Upload a Pin > Choose File > File from your Computer > Uploading > Choose the Board > Pin

5. Follow amazing Pinterest users

The best in Pinterest you can follow anyone with good taste. They can be celebrities, photographers, curators, or regular moms with creative style. You may want to follow each blog or you may follow all.  I can make a list of top Pinterest users depending on their boards but my love for all will be Nina Garcia and OscarPRGirl.

6. Set your best board cover

If you have more than 10 pins in your board, you may have your option to change board cover or just leave it like that with the most current pin. Setting the best cover can make long lasting recall for your followers. Here are my board covers for my own boards.

7. Rearrange your boards

You can rearrange your board according to your taste. With my current board style, my own boards with original contents are above, next will be fashion boards and wedding boards, then the random boards and lastly the community boards. You may change the board location just by dragging it to the location you prefer.

8. Be part of the community boards

Being part of community boards is a good plus. You wont need to follow all the great boards since community boards are bunch of Pinterest users who combine their pins into one. They have rules often followed, like users can only post 5 post at a time to avoid spamming. You may also start your own community board for your team or brand. Choosing other pinners is a joy. Remember you cannot just add anybody in your community boards, they will need to accept the invitation first before they can pin.

*** The character beside the board name means this is a community board.

9. Maximize Facebook and Twitter

From the Settings, You may be able to login with your Facebook and Twitter. For every pin post you have the option if you want to post using this Social Medias. It is actually great to make your followers be updated with all of your post. You can also publish your activity on your Facebook Timeline. And an option to Hide your Pinterest profile from search engines.

Define Libel

Define Libel

Filipina Wanderer defines Libel.

¹A libel is a malicious, false statement in written media, a broadcast, or otherwise published words.

According to wikipedia, Defamation—also called calumny, vilification, traducement, slander (for transitory statements), and libel (for written, broadcast, or otherwise published words)—is the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, religion, or nation a negative or inferior image. This can be also any disparaging statement made by one person about another, which is communicated or published, whether true or false, depending on legal state.

ELEMENTS OF LIBEL

1. Defamatory imputation - that lowers the esteem, honor or respect that a person is regarded

2. Publicity - must be seen or known by a third person, other than whom the libelous statement is addressed

3. Identification - the person libeled must be identified

4. Malice - if there is no good intention or justified motive for the defamatory statement. Reckless disregard for the truth.

If we remember the libel case of Dra. Vicky Belo versus Atty. Argee Guevarra, the first Philippine Facebook libel case  wherein the lawyer  posted “slanderous” comments on his Facebook page in 2009. She didn’t win the case. Now any slanderous comments can be a ground for libel.

With this new rule going on, a smart person can sue us for libel just by commenting on facebook or any social media. We can be sued for our opinions on topics that we do not like. We may not be able to express our feelings since we are prohibited by law. However, this also gives us the right to protect ourselves for those people who judges us. If our reputation and the public acceptance is our priority, this gives us an edge for only receiving good feedback. This only lead us to “be careful on what you post and what you like”.

♣Atty. Jose Jesus “JJ” Disini Jr., a cyber law expert said:
“When you put something on your Facebook, you’re publishing it at the very least to your friends. But in libel law, even if you send [a libelous statement] to 2 or 3 people, that’s libel. That’s enough to meet the standard for publication in libel”
“The same goes for anyone else on the Facebook who ‘cut and pasted’ a libelous statement and republished it. You yourself commit libel,”
Under Article 353 of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines, libel is defined as a public and malicious imputation of a crime, or of a vice or defect, real or imaginary, or any act, omission, condition, status or circumstance tending to discredit or cause the dishonor or contempt of a natural or juridical person, or to blacken the memory of one who is dead. Thus, the elements of libel are: (a) imputation of a discreditable act or condition to another; (b) publication of the imputation; (c) identity of the person defamed; and, (d) existence of malice.  [Daez v. Court of Appeals, G.R. No. 47971, 31 October 1990, 191 SCRA 61, 67]

²”In libel cases, the question is not what the writer of an alleged libel means, but what the words used by him mean.”

While gathering information with this post, I realize that this also touches the issue about our openness about constructive criticism. An opinion made by others can hurt us especially if this opinion is the truth. There are 3 ways to deal with criticism.
  • One, take it positively. If you are an optimist, you take this words, change what we have to change and become a better person.
  • Two, cry like a baby. We may still move on but we don’t make an initiative to change. We still live inside the criticism. We breath it as we are part of it.
  • And lastly, we sue for libel or we attack the person. In the Philippines, we don’t usually sue people. I may be wrong. But whenever a person commits a crime against us, we either take it lightly or we are too afraid or too busy to file a suit. Probably in this modern times, our government wants us to be active to participate in change. Maybe or maybe not.

ARTICLE 3, SECTION 4 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution

³”No law shall be passed abridging the freedom of speech, of expression, or of the press, or the right of the people to assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances.”

Prohibiting someone to express his thoughts on certain issues is taking the right of a person for freedom of speech. Blogging is one medium where we the citizens of this country can freely express our voices. Many bloggers post their rantings about their political or religious views, some create articles about their love for art, fashion or travel, there are others who get paid to make reviews about restaurants, hotels or events.  Blogging is a freedom of expression. It is like keeping a diary or a journal. You vent out your emotions so you can be free and we can act normal again.

We may want to check and verify our actions by checking the blogger’s code of ethics. It says: be honest and fair, minimize harm, and be accountable. My only question now. Does the new cyber crime law prohibits us to blog and express our feelings or does it saves us?

Republic Act 10175 AKA Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012

RA 10175

Filipina Wanderer wants you to be aware. Republic Act 10175 AKA Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (20120912-RA-10175-BSA)   was approved by our President Benigno Aquino last September 12, 2012.

“AN ACT DEFINING CYBERCRIME, PROVIDING FOR THE PREVENTION, INVESTIGATION, SUPPRESSION AND THE IMPOSITION OF PENALTIES THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES”

Since Senator Tito Sotto made a big commotion about plagiarism it is actually great that this bill was passed as fast as a lightning speed.  We bloggers should be aware of this. This can protect us and ruin us. It is best to be knowledgeable about matters that are important.

I feel good that the penalties are as much as Php 500,000. This means that  it will lessen the offenders. However I have a question in mind, I hope someone (legal) can help me with it, so this only means that cyber crime is more offensive than criminal crimes? Since there is a higher penalties than to ordinary crimes? I do hope this will be amended fully in the future.

I am looking forward for the future amendment of this act, wherein it could also touch the issues about SOPA, PIPA, and plagiarism.

Revisiting Manila

aDSC00975

My name is Cher. Born and raised in the Philippines. I am a traveler, a happiness wanderer.

Disclaimer: This should have been my entry for a Europe trip contest, I decided not to submit the article and decided to post it here.

The only way to revisit Manila is when a Balikbayan (your relative/ friend who migrated in a different country) comes back to the Philippines for a visit. I have been a regular driver for our balikbayans, there is my dad who a OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) in Qatar, my crazy cousin Robbyn from Los Angeles, my aunts from New York and some friends who are working from London and elsewhere. The first thing to do is to set their itinerary. Being the driver/ tour guide, I have to make sure their schedules would fit mine too.

This is one of my DA Shots of Manila while travelling to Singapore.

The first stop is the mall. One good thing in Manila there are tons of shopping malls. Officially it became a to-do-list for balikbayans or tourist to explore and conquer. There is a 3 is 3 rule that I make sure my guest should visit, the big 3, the retailers heaven and the neighborhood malls.

Shot while stuck in traffic in Binondo Manila

The big 3, Bonifacio Global City, Greenbelt and Mall of Asia. BGC is so big you might want to leave your espadrilles at home and use your tsinelas (flip-flops) or sandals. I actually like the environment here. You can walk your dog. Eat in  a fancy restaurant. Drink some booze while watching the japorms of the people who passes by in Serendra. You can buy your expensive gadget, sports accessory or shoes. Then at night you can party at some bars or clubs near the area. In Greenbelt, the only thing I really do here is to dine or to watch a movie but since Newport Mall had become my new love in terms of dining, movie and leisure. GB is just a place where you bring your balikbayans so they can eat and shop at boutiques that they do have back in else where.  And of course, Mall of Asia, I think most tourist made this a mall destination. Theres nothing fancy but surprisingly they made some changes. Like the big rides at the back more kids on their field trip.

And when I say retailers heaven, the first thing that pops in my mind would also Divisoria, Baclaran and Greenhills. Be warned though, not to bring any valuables at hand. But bring as much money because I can guarantee you your relatives will be super happy shopping the cheap merchandises. I know it sounds ironic. Women most of the time keep their money inside their bra/ brassiere. My aunt says it is safe. And you can get the barya/ sukli for every purchase they made :)

BBQ

Philippine Kanto BBQ

In the Philippines, it is a fad to buy thing in retail. We have sarisari stores to defend that, you can buy your shampoo and conditioner in sachets to your sanitary napkins in singles. And the neighbor malls are the mushroom malls that keeps on sprouting everywhere in Manila, that is SM, Puregold and Starmall.

And there are things that a balikbayan would want to experience as well. Like drinking softdrink in plastic and straw, Eat fishballs and isaw, this are some, and a must to do for balikbayans, especially if you have younger cousins who never tried blowing the plastic balloon, they will surely love the experience.

Balikbayans are also into partying. I also have a list to where I can bring them. If they wanting the old chill, south side drinking. I can call my friends and buy some booze and have the best garage party at my house. If they want to go clubbing there is Republiq in Newport Mall, Opus which is just beside Republiq or Prive which is in Makati. And if they want to experience the real filipino partying style, I would just bring my guest to Aguirre in BF Paranaque where the locals come to drink whether its on a Monday or the weekend.

Goat from Calatagan, Batangas

If your balikbayan are dating or married to a foreigner and they are with them. It is always best to bring our guest to 3 special places. One would be Luneta, I just revisited it recently during the Chinese New Year. And it made me super happy. The fountains are great. They have a light show during the night which is very spectacular with the fireworks to cap the night. Your guest can stroll from Taft Avenue to the Quirino Grandstand. This is a definitely a must. Two, Boracay or Palawan is also part of the must. The Island of the Philippines is a gateway of awesome beaches and great

Revisiting Manila can be hard. Our lifestyle now is different from what our folks used to have. Treating your guest is tough as well. You have to squeeze in all the best spots depending on their taste in one or two weeks time. However the best way to experience the real deal to any travel is to think like a local. Experiencing what the locals do, where do they go, and why do they love their place. I have revisited Manila in countless times. And I wanna visit it again in the future.

Photography Background

PeakTramPsyched

Filipina Wanderer, wanted to repost everything that was on my bucket. Maybe make this blog as an external memory/ online flashdisk LOL. (We will see)

Lets start with my Photography. I started the love for arts at a very young age. Coming from a family of architects, I’ve been opened to creativity at its finest. Sketching and Free Hand drawing became a hobby back in gradeschool, then I shifted to painting. I wanted to paint things according to my eyes, I used oil, charcoal and watercolor. Then at age 11, I enrolled myself (yes I paid for it) at Magsaysay School for Photography. Being the youngest in the group is an advantage, they let me experience the craft more, more lab time means more experience for me. At that point our lessons where more on exposures, polaroids and how to print your own pictures, which I find as my edge to other photographers.

Since technology is so fast, from manual slr’s to digital cameras to digital slr’s. Starting young is a good thing, the only regret I am having is that I didn’t keep the proofs and most of the roll films are easy to be

I will look for my old camera and will be posting it here. (excited)

“PeakTramPsyched” Shot from Peak Tram, Hongkong. I edited this using Photoshop and Psychopaint. (I usually use different softwares, Photoshop and I have a love and hate affair). This is the photo for this site’s background.  Originally I created this for my CTCHIQ’s poster. I really loved how this picture turn into art in my own little way.

You may check for my tumblr for my previous post. I usually post all of my fresh edits/ shots there. I will reblogg most of my shots since I am in the process of transferring my blogs into one :)

FTW – For the Win – Magazine

FTW cover

FTW – For the Win – Magazine

A few months ago, a friend gave a very good idea of making our own magazine, wherein we can conceptualize from a to z. The creative in me went on raging with inspirations from fashion, women, technology, thus, me gaving the name “FTW”. I may not be able to help through the real production of the magazine because I was not aware they were already making the plans and execution but luckily the people behind it gave the right push. Im still grateful that I have a bits and pits from the editorial board. Thank you for having my name on it.

FTW Card Front

Suprisingly, I was given the opportunity to design the FTW card. It originated as the Reebok Discount card, but it ended as the FTW card. From numerous designs, hours of conceptualizing and horrible blank moments of waiting whether the ups like it or not. Here comes the finish product. The FTW card is a discount card powered by Reebok (20% discount on all Reebok items), free trials from Curves Philippines and Planaforma.

FTW Card Back

I actually don’t have a copy of it, sadly. But the memories for this magazine made me realize a lot of things. First, believe in your creativity but never share it unless you can put it on a canvass and you can start owning it. Second, women are hormonal and sometimes we act based on our hormones. Lastly, as I always say, I believe in goodness, everybody has it. They may be delusional sometimes and make you feel worse but if you believe in karma, good things will happen to you as long as you’ve been good to them.

Just me saying – CT

Lee Cooper Philippines

Lee Cooper Philippines If you have been walking across the Metro, I am pretty sure you have seen their ads everywhere. It is indeed a fine British Denim Brand. I am honored to witness and participate the British Council Festival last March. This was a two day event happened in the High Street at the the Fort Taguig City.

Receiving a message from our good friends from AQAdvertising. Me and some bloggers enjoyed the night filled with music and style with Ms. Kat Alano as the master of events. The night started with a fashion show featuring the new collection from Lee Cooper Philippines. We got serenaded and the night was capped off by the DJ. We even got forms for academic sponsorship from the University of Kent. Fingers cross :)

The culture of the brits may have inspired ours in a way. We love the council and the festival. I cannot wait for next year’s festival. I do hope to see more familiar faces as we celebrate a weekend of culture and entertainment.

lee cooper five lee cooper four lee cooper one lee cooper three lee cooper two When it comes to styling and designing clothes, British Fashion has always been one of the inspirations of the Filipinos. And Lee Cooper, the foremost European brand in denim which made its way to Manila on August 2012 has rocked and rolled the Philippine fashion industry with their sophisticated, stylish and exciting designs. Since this iconic brand from London is driven by their GREAT passion for denim, it is only fitting to make them the GREAT Sponsor for the GREAT British Festival

Lee Cooper took GREAT participation in the five-month GREAT Britain campaign through their series of clothing exhibits with their top collections in different malls that kicked off at SM Aura on February 10, where British Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Asif Anwar Ahmad formally opened to the public the GREAT British Fashion collection. The series of Lee Cooper exhibition took place at the Intercontinental Hotel on February 13,  Mall of Asia (February 19-23), SM Megamall (February 26 – March 2), and SM North EDSA (March 5 – 9). Coupons worth PHP 100 off in every PHP 1,000 item purchased were also given to the booth visitors.

And just in time for summer, Lee Cooper has released its new summer collection that has taken in the hues of the festive and colourful vibes of the Brighton festivals. Brighton is a charming city and a famous seaside resort on the south coast of England. The British Carnival inspired denims and tops that were flaunted on the runway were of grunge marine feel fused with preppy edge incorporated with Brighton backdrop and Lee Cooper heritage.

We love the Lee Cooper Collection. See for yourself.

Customers satisfaction has always been a priority with this BPO industry and with the Filipino labor force, we can assume that it can synergize completely. Read here for more information on this existing partnership.

LAHUG, CEBU CITY, October 7, 2013 – With business competition getting more & more aggressive, and companies wanting to be ahead in attracting customers and ensuring that consumers continue to patronize their business, much has been done in terms of improving products and services to be more aligned to what the customer needs.  This includes repackaging a product, developing more creative advertising approaches, and price offerings to communicate value for money.

But in the long run, customers are getting smarter and more sophisticated in selecting which company to patronize.  They are placing more and more emphasis on their overall experience with the company and the brand.

Customer service has become a defining factor in why customers select one brand over another.   Thus, companies nowadays have begun investing in Customer Experience Staff – who will ensure and monitor that the results of all these enhancements and improvements made during the customer life cycle, are delivered perfectly and will create customer advocates.

The staff for these roles must not just be self-motivated and service-driven individuals – but they must be able to identify areas of opportunity to enhance the service delivery process, anticipate the needs of customers every step of the way, provide solutions and methodologies that work, and in time, drive the continuous achievement goal of providing the most ideal service to their clients.  These Leadership roles must be able to drive innovation, continuous improvement and behavioral changes across the contact center and back into the client organization to change perspectives of decision-makers in driving business improvement results.

Opportunities for ideal candidates for these roles are not always easy to come by.  It takes the right person, with the right attitude and mindset, to be successful in these roles.

So if you’re looking for a way to further enhance your career, are passionate about customer service, working with people, and you possess the right values and key competencies to be a successful Customer Experience catalyst, here’s your chance to be a part of the team that will lead change in this area!

Shoe shopping for this summer? Do not fret. Summer 2013 is about the chunk and the color. I always believe in the power of high heels. I am recommending wedges with style and vibrant colors. It is perfect for that summer dress. You can walk in the park with your date and I guarantee you, feeling so girly is never this fun. Studs are also “in” this season. I advise you to wear the funky studded stilettos for that dinner date. Stilettos never  goes out of fashion. It goes great to every kind of wardrobe.
